Progress lines now actually appear on iPhone and iPad
The Aug 2 note below said iOS would show a line each time an approved plan moved to its next step. On iPhone and iPad it never did: the app had the code to draw that line, but the events carrying it were being dropped before they reached the screen. So a long run — one pausing between steps, or waiting out your plan’s per-minute limit — looked frozen on “thinking…” even though it was working the whole time. Both are fixed: you now see “Continuing the plan — step 3: …” as each step starts, and a plain “Pacing for your plan’s per-minute limit — resuming in ~20s” instead of silence. Web and the Mac app already showed these.
Long chains finish their last step instead of stopping to ask
A multi-step request — read the pipeline, find lookalike companies, find their sales leaders, then draft an automation — would do all the research and then stop on “I will now build the automation…” without building it, leaving you to type “run it”. Nico now goes ahead and produces that draft for you to look at. Nothing is created, enrolled, or sent by this: it is a preview, and the approval step for anything that writes is unchanged — it still waits for you to say yes in your own words.
Long runs are faster, and interrupted ones can be resumed
Several fixes to how long GTM chains run: planning starts sooner, answers are no longer cut off mid-table, work already done is reused instead of repeated when a step is retried, and a run that gets interrupted can be picked up with a plain “try again” rather than started over. Where a long answer restated the same section twice, the repeat is now folded away instead of the whole answer being discarded.
Chat sends reliably again
A regression in the Aug 2 web and Mac builds could silently stop a chat message from ever being sent — the composer showed “Nico is working” indefinitely with no answer coming. The cause was fixed the same day on the web app and in Mac 2.1.9, and the app now surfaces an honest error and frees the composer if a message ever fails before sending, instead of spinning forever.
You can see the plan continuing
New Mac and iOS builds surface each automatic plan step as it starts — a quiet “Continuing the plan — step 3: Find lookalike companies” line in the stream — so a working run never looks stalled. The Mac app also gains the durable run ledger, and the plan card no longer doubles when a plan is re-stated. Plus: approving a plan from the plan card now reliably arms the full end-to-end run on every surface.
Approved plans now run to the finish — no more “keep going”
When you approve an execution plan, Nico now carries it through on its own: each completed step is recorded in a durable run ledger, data that was already fetched is reused instead of re-read, and the run continues step by step until it reaches a result — or a decision that is yours. Anything that writes (creating an agent, enrolling prospects, sending) still stops and asks. Reads only, bounded, and every automatic step lands in the activity log.
Scheduled routines hold third-party tools to a stricter standard
Unattended runs — routines, schedules, digests — now execute a connector tool only when the connector itself declares it read-only. Tools without that declaration pause and report instead of acting. Interactive chat is unchanged; this tightens the lane where nobody is watching.
The activity log never overstates what happened
A confirmed action whose backend returned an error could previously be listed as a success in the activity log. Outcomes are now derived from the actual result on every path — success, failure, preview, and served-from-history are recorded distinctly.

Release wave across desktop, Mac, and iOS
New builds on every surface: the Electron desktop app (2.5.24, auto-update), the native Swift Mac app (2.1.7), and iOS build 74 on TestFlight. The download page now always reflects the live release feed.
Cleaner long runs: no repeated status lines, no wasted retries
When a connector runs out of credits mid-run, Nico now tells you once and sets that connector aside for the rest of the run instead of retrying it. Repeated narration is collapsed, and a re-stated plan no longer doubles the plan card.
Lookalike engine — true peers, not your own pipeline
“Find companies similar to my best deals” now uses a dedicated similarity engine: seed a company by domain and get genuine peers — same category and size band — each with the reason it matched. Your existing pipeline and customers are excluded automatically, and one chain finds the sales leaders at those peers. Peer results feed the prospecting artifact.
Faster, steadier agent runs
A run that announces its next step now takes that step instead of stopping. Schema lookups no longer burn run budget on read-only questions, connector sessions are kept warm far longer, and server restarts drain gracefully so in-flight answers finish.
Continuous delivery — every improvement ships the day it lands
Nico's backend moved to a fully automated build-and-deploy pipeline on Kubernetes. Fixes and features roll out within minutes of passing the test suites, with pre-migration database snapshots on every schema change.
Runs survive network handoffs and app switches
Switching from Wi-Fi to cellular — or backgrounding the iOS app — no longer loses a running answer. Streams reconnect and replay, and a run that finishes while you're away is waiting when you return.
Plans, billing, and teams
Self-serve billing went live: a real free plan, annual billing, an in-product plan picker, and team workspaces with a shared usage pool and a manager view. Buy a seat, invite a teammate, done.
Native Gmail & Outlook
Connect your own mailbox: Nico reads context, drafts replies into your Drafts folder, and sends only after you confirm — reusing the same secure sign-in as calendar.
Routines + a Today home surface
Recurring work became first-class: curated routines (morning brief, pipeline check, reply sweep) plus custom routines you build yourself, on your schedule. The new Today surface collects the latest outputs across every device.
Nico 2.5 runs on Macrodeep's own infrastructure
The nico-2.5 model now serves from self-hosted GPUs with an automatic fallback safety net — faster first tokens and full control over the serving stack.
Deeper connectors: HubSpot, Attio, and the GTM catalog
Native HubSpot and Attio joined Salesforce with the same depth — pipeline views, record artifacts, and confirm-gated writes — alongside a growing registry of GTM connectors (Apollo, Gong, Outreach, Clay-style tables, and more) with one-click OAuth.
Execution Plan cards
Multi-step work now proposes a visible plan first: numbered steps, the tool each will use, and an Approve & Execute gate. Steps check off live as the run executes them.
Production honesty audit
A four-surface sweep removed every remaining placeholder: feeds, KPIs, and artifacts now render only real data from your connected stack, with honest empty states when a system has nothing to show.
